22.01.2007 v1.15 Some small progress: quest in Reactor X area. UQS seem work ok. Now making new NPCs is easy and go faster: there is no worry that something will go wrong, because it use one tested script. Every changes go into his parts combinations and dialog content. Probably i will use "guild system" for quests, thats mean group of NPC will give many tasks from one similar way depend on skills. It should made every skill more usable: give new possibilities and different alternate ways to finish game. LINK: UQS project homepage 20.01.2007 (game story: updated) My first ideas about big F2 mod was mostly about survival in disaster situation. Idea is to first develop background reality, in second place adventure parts depend on world where it happend. So if world will be more realistic: typical NPC will have different individual problems. For example increase radiation level, disease, mutants attack, technical problems and crime. Game begin when you crash on desert and lost memories. You may refresh memories during experience (some scrpit which check exp amout) So finally you will remember who you are and where was destination base where you fly. No matter what you do or where you go: last area will appear when you reach some experience level. Its good system because give totally freedom. Your task is to survive and get experience which refresh your memories and allow to find destination area where you fly. 30.12.2006 v1.14 Ok I fixed many details around and start add some locations to empty world. First is Abbey: small church in middle of ruined city. I got some concept about quests here, but already its empty. Second is Reactor X, known as alternate temple from BSM1. You will need lot of equipment to explore this abandoned place: light source (i upgraded flashlight idea from BSM1, now its work much better), dynamite to get trough rocks, rope to climb elevator shaft, crowbar to open rusty lockers, gasmask.. and probably something more! 28.12.2006 v1.13 I decided add worldmap and replace "trevell dice" by "navigation system" which you can take from crashed vertibird. This item will open worldmap screen. Clothes go to inventory. World is totally empty (turn off towns and encounters) I will start from add small areas and during experience larger ones. First name of BSM2 was "abandoned places" but lately i invent "universal quest script" so towns will be full of NPC which give some real adventure. Other changes is upgraded interface graphic: HP and AC boxes (wood style). |
